An independent collaborative consortium of Umarian scientists, engineers, physicians and technologists. The Alliance collaborates with the P.S.O. Scientific Research Division, sharing knowledge and resources to advance Umarian enhancement and the well-being of all Umarian lives — while pursuing a theory about Meta-energy the P.S.O. would rather no one pursued.

How it came to be this way

The Meta-energy theory
Early Umarian scientists in the S.T.A. proposed that Meta-energy originated from another plane of existence and entered this universe, disrupting star formation throughout Umara's region of space. Their research holds that this energy not only enhanced Umarian abilities but also dramatically slowed aging. Dr. Vil Tasc'n continues to support that theory.

Project Chronos
A temporal displacement device Tasc'n's team has been developing for some time, not yet operational. Every attempt to send a test subject back by five minutes ends the same way: it fails to reappear. A crucial variable is still missing.

The forbidden question
The discovery of a new resource leads the Alliance to begin questioning ideas that had always been considered untouchable — where the Umarians truly came from.
